Mobile phone service closed the studied period with 7,101,892 subscribers, in which 80 % used the prepaid payment method and 20 % the postpaid payment method, with ICE being the operator with the most market share in both payment methods, 58% and 76% respectively.

The income reached ¢404,962 million colones, with a 38% increase registered in 2013; the 94% of this figure corresponded to voice and 6% to messaging.

Mobile traffic in 2014, was of 9,037 million of minutes, 3% above of the 2013 traffic. From this figure, 64% corresponded to prepaid traffic and 36% to postpaid traffic, meaning that the monthly average traffic for a prepaid user was of 85 minutes and 190 minutes for the postpaid user.
